Nepal Physical Society (NPS<\/mark><\/a>) is a professional non-profit organization of the Nepalese physicists established in 1983 AD (2039 B.S.) with the mission of advancing and diffusing knowledge of physics throughout the country. Its members are physicists, professors, lecturers, teachers, and students of physics from Nepal and abroad as well. The executive body of the society is formed by general convention every two years, and annual meetings of the society are held to promote members\u2019 education and research activities. The Society has also established newsworthy chapters in accordance with geographical regions to accumulate information about current physics education and ongoing research activities throughout the country. Since its conception, the Society has been conducting various activities, including school\/workshops, webinars, seminars, symposiums, train-the-trainer and lecture programs, regularly in order to promote physics education and research activities in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NPS has maintained a reciprocal member society<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> status with the American Physical Society (APS<\/mark><\/a>) since 1995. Our members have benefited from APS\u2019s support, and the NPS has been organizing the APS Global Physics Summit Satellite Event in Nepal annually since 2025. Also, NPS<\/mark><\/a> is a member society<\/strong><\/mark> <\/a>of the Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies (AAPPS<\/mark><\/a>). Furthermore, NPS has been an Associate Territorial Member<\/mark><\/a> <\/strong>of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP<\/mark><\/a>) under an MoU signed in September 2023. Additionally, NPS has signed an MoU with the Association of Nepali Physicists in America (ANPA<\/mark><\/a>) to establish a framework for collaboration and cooperation between the two organizations through the mutual exchange of scientific and technological knowledge, ideas, and expertise, with the aim of better serving the Nepali scientific diaspora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The society organizes different scientific and educational activities related to physical sciences in Nepal. These activities include classes, lectures, webinars, seminars, schools, conferences, workshops, and talk programs on recent trends in physics and research activities in a global context. The society publishes NPS Newsletters<\/strong><\/mark><\/a> and a peer-reviewed journal, Journal of Nepal Physical Society (JNPS<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>), on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong><\/mark>\u2022 To encourage and assist activities in physics directed towards the application of physics concepts and methods in all related fields.<\/strong><\/mark>
\u2022 To disseminate the knowledge and applications of physics among its members.
<\/strong><\/mark>\u2022 To endeavor towards strengthening career prospects in physics by establishing various awards.<\/strong><\/mark>
