
We, Family of Nepal Physical Society, are deeply distressed by hearing the regretful news about the sudden death of Philip Warren Anderson, on March 29, 2020 at the age of 96. Anderson is the top condensed-matter physicists of the 20th century and he was awarded Nobel Prize for Physics in 1977 on theoretical research into the electronic structure of magnetic and disordered systems led to an improved understanding of metals and insulators. Anderson also visited Kathmandu on 1989 during First Kathmandu Summer School in Physics-BCSPIN.
May his eternal soul live in peace and we extend our deeply felt condolences to the Anderson’s family, disciples, colleagues and followers.
